

China, Spain agree on efforts to improve bilateral ties

President Hu Jintao held a welcoming ceremony for King Juan Carlos on Tuesday. This is the king's third visit to China.
Later, the two leaders held discussions on closer bilateral ties.
President Hu said recent years have seen frequent contact between high-level officials from the two countries, not to mention rapid development of economic cooperation and bilateral trade volume.
President Hu thanked Spain for its firm support of China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He was also grateful for the Spanish government's efforts to promote relations between China and the EU.
For his part, King Carlos says the two countries will continue to work together to develop their joint interests and foster their friendship.
During his six-day visit, the Spanish king will also travel to Chengdu, capital of the southwestern province of Sichuan
